Crop scheme under Macro Management Mode of Agriculture in the assigned states

        In October, 2000, 27 Central Sponsored Scheme of the Department of Agriculture & Cooperation has been subsumed in to Macro Management Scheme which has been launched as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme for all round development in agriculture through Work Plan prepared by the state governments. The main terms and conditions for implementation of the scheme under Macro Management Mode of Agriculture are indicated hereunder: 

1. The scheme under Macro Management Mode of Agriculture will be implemented as per existing guidelines and the subsidy in the components will not exceed the existing rate of subsidy.

2. The outlay for the programme will be shared between the Central and the State Government in the ratio of 90:10. In the case of north-eastern states, however, the entire expenditure will be borne by the Govt. of India. The central assistance to the states for this programme will be in the ratio of 80% grant and 20% loan.

3. The state may include new initiative in the programme not exceeding 10% of the total allocation.

4. Subsequently, subsidy of the components reduced to 25 per cent in the year 2002.

The implementation of the crop oriented schemes is monitored by the respective Crop Directorates in their assigned states. The crop schemes presently implemented in the assigned states of the Directorate of Jute Development under Macro Management Mode are indicated hereunder.

 

Special Jute Development Programme (SJDP)

A Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Special Jute Development Programme had been in operation since 1987-88 in the jute and allied fibre growing states. In October 2000, it subsumed in to Macro Management Scheme. For details link to SJDP page under Macro Management Mode

National Pulses Development Project (NPDP)

In the year 2004-05, the on-going scheme NPDP under Technology Mission on oilseed, Pulses & Maize merged into Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Oilseeds, Pulses, Palm Oil and Maize (ISOPOM). The scheme launched in the selected states. The states not selected under ISOPOM scheme are implementing the NPDP under Macro Management Mode of Agriculture.

Oilseed Production Programme (OPP)

In May 1986, Government of India launched a Technology Mission on Oilseed to harness the best of production, processing and management technologies to accelerate self-reliance in oilseeds and vegetable oils. The effective implementation of the four-pronged strategy adopted by the Mission: (i) to improve oilseeds crop technology; (ii) to improve processing and post harvest technology; (iii) to strengthen input services to farmers; and (iv) to improve institutions connected with the industry and marketing.

In the year 2004-05, the scheme merged into Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Oilseeds, Pulses, Palm Oil and Maize (ISOPOM). The scheme launched in the selected states. The states not selected under ISOPOM scheme are implementing the OPP under Macro Management Mode of Agriculture.

Accelerated Maize Development Programme (AMDP)
