Intensive Cotton Development Programme (ICDP – Cotton) under Mini Mission-II of Technology Mission on Cotton

The Intensive Cotton Development Programme under Mini Mission – II of Technology Mission on Cotton has been in operation in the country since 2000. In our assigned states the ICDP – Cotton is being implemented in the states of West Bengal and Tripura. The main objective of the scheme is to increase production and productivity of cotton. The pattern of different components varies from 25 to 100 per cent. The sharing of fund between Central Government and State Governments is 75:25. Integrated Scheme of Oilseeds, Pulses, Oil palm and Maize (ISOPOM)

The Technology Mission on Oilseeds ( TMO ) was launched in 1986 with a view to increase the production and productivity of oilseeds in the country. A Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Oilseeds Production Programme (OPP) has been in operation under the Technology Mission on Oilseeds. Subsequently, the Centrally Sponsored Scheme on National Pulses Development Project (NPDP), Accelerated Maize Development Programme (AMDP) and Oil palm Development Programme (OPDP) were brought into the ambit of the Technology Mission in 1990, 1992-93 and 1995 respectively with the Mission name as Technology Mission on Oilseeds, Pulses and Maize (TMOP& M). To provide flexibility to the states in implementation of this programme based on regionally differentiated approach, to promote crop diversification, to provide focussed approach to the programmes and in view of the suggestions of the Planning Commission, the above four schemes have been modified and merged into one Centrally Sponsored Integrated Scheme of Oilseeds, Pulses, Oil palm and Maize (ISOPOM) during the 10 th Five Year Plan. However, the implementation of the scheme on ISOPOM commenced in 2004-05. In our assigned states, the ISOPOM is being Implemented in the states of Assam on Oil palm, Mizoram on Oil palm, Tripura on Oil palm and West Bengal on oilseeds, pulses and maize.
